Called around few body shops lowest I can find is $500 to have a rubicon hood painted does that sound about right? Was thinking a little high but not sure.

I’ve gotten anywhere from 450-750 so that seems about right.

im assuming that's with blending into the fenders? maybe not. is the hood aluminum? keep in mind, painting aluminum is a whole different animal than painting steel. different equipment, training and area of the shop. shops had to invest a lot to work on aluminum cars. of course, most of that has to deal with body work. but it sounds about right. painting is expensive! and you get what you pay for. ive had cheap, shitty paint work done. you end up paying more because you do it twice.

I purchased the Rubi hood for my Sahara (Black) I had it painted at Maaco for $350 (they also installed it). They did a great paint job, perfect match. Not to figure out what to do with my old stock hood...
