I bought these - JEEP WRANGLER JL SRC SIDE ARMOR W/ STEPS - but don't have the install guide. I can't figure out the best way to get the front nut-plates in the frame properly.

Item link - https://www.smittybilt.com/JL_SRC_SideArmor#prettyPhoto

Can someone explain to me how to slide that inside the frame, over whatever is in there, to the right place?

I attached pics of the plate and frame. Circle is where I think it should be put in and line is where it's supposed to end up. Even if you have the install guide, a picture of that section would be helpful.

Thank you!

I just installed mine today and there is an oval shaped slot to insert. From you pic it looks like you may have already covered it up. You have to do this prior to bolting on the rail. I have some pics of the instructions (not terribly helpful). So also have a pic of the slot, mine is partially covered as I have the rail on already. The other pic is the bottom where they line up.

HTFAN - I head out to Oceanside every now and then. Have't brought the Jeep yet though. How are the trails and camping out there? I always assumed there wasn't much in the SoCal area.

I’m installing these now and was just wondering if the plate stayed in place to get it bolted in or how you kept it lined up.
There’s these other flat frame plates too that look the same but without the threads and there’s no indication of where to use them in the directions.

I use Telescopic Magnetic to hold the plate in place. It was a bit tricky but it can be done.
The flat plates you are referring to are the spacers, I did not use them lol.
