Hard Top Replacement with Built-In Tent

Finally got a chance to get out and try it out. Headed to eastern Kentucky for part of the Kentucky Adventure Trail with some friends. Terrible weather and historic flooding, but we managed to miss most of it. Still had a lot of rain. Stayed completely dry inside with the rain fly down. Did not have good airflow that way, though and I forgot my fans, so it got a little muggy a couple of nights.

I still need to do some rearranging of my interior setup (custom platform) to make it easier to get into, but overall it did really well.

looks like you took a mud bath. Glad the tent is working out. Bold move to drop that much cash on it but it looks and sounds like it is worth every penny. Maybe I will see you on the trails. Happy camping.

Ok. That looks very clean! One question, does it actually improve the wind noise when driving over the factory top? It seems like it could with the cushions inside acting as a buffer when closed up and driving down the highway.

I did not notice wind noise on the factory top too much, but I'm sure this top would cut it down. I have noticed cooler interior temps though. There's a good 3 inches extra space that's filled with the bedding that insulates both heat and sound.

550 is the full shipping weight. The top itself is just over 200lbs (100 more than the stock top).

Thanks for clarifying. The 550lbs number made me go wtf why would you do this. An extra 100lbs? That’s solid. Easily saves 50-100lbs over most rooftop tent setups.

Wow. that is close t me dream set up. I would want the open top option that I have with the sot!
Still that is an awesome set up? Can you show some pictures of the inside and how you get access ? you really got me thinking ? sell the sot , sell the go fast ultra light RTT, sell the deepsleep? Hm might be close in price? but then again I would have to get a new back window and the swivels that are on the regular hard top? More pictures please Thansk
