Grill insert blacking out suggestions

I want to change my grill and headlight inserts from silver to black. What is the best way to do this? I have seen black inserts on Amazon or should I just paint them? Do they separate from the existing grill. Should I just buy oem in black? Thanks for help.

you can take the entire grill apart and paint them. theres plenty of videos on the forum or you tube for taking it apart.

Remove the inserts and headlight buckets, them paint them with Krylon Fusion. It's made specifically for plastic and provides great results. You would need to do the silver bumper trim too, as it would really stand out if you only did the grille.

If you don't like the results, then order the new inserts from Amazon.

If you can find a new black grill for cheap that someone took of, that would be the easiest solution.

I followed you’lls advise. Came out really good Used gloss on grill and flat on fog light bezels. Washed all parts with soap and water, then wiped down with lacquer thinner. Baked after painting for 30 min at 160degrees in oven. Krypton color max with primer.
