Good afternoon,
I’m running the Clayton 3.5 lift on my 2018 JL.
I noticed a clunking in my rear end and on further inspection my passenger rear upper giro joints jam nut was showing the threads letting go and 2-3 threads worth of play.
I removed the Joint and inspected internal threads on your control arm
And the looked good, the threads on the male end of joint looked a little flat for a few recurring threads making sense for the rocking of the joint.
I flipped the giro joint 180 degrees so the flat threads would be sitting at a different thread.
Jam nut had to be heated to get it to move so I don’t think it was a tightening issue rather than a defect in the giro joint.
Can these joints be replaced with something stronger?
What’s my best option for refreshing the feeling of this lift and making it ride good again, I was surprised at how loose the Giro joint turned on the bolt, it’s seemed like a lot of play.
