What about the GPCA cargo cover? I don't have one but have been thinking about it.

I hated mine. Stopped using it. It flapped and sagged.
I use the GPCA with no issues, I had one for my JK that worked well so I got one for the JL.
If it would have had rigidity at the tail end then I would have liked it
Sounds like the GPCA might be worth a try...maybe with a modification to stiffen the trailing edge if it gets flappy. Thanks for the recs!

Hi Jesse,
I've also used the GPCA cover from Amazon for about $90.00 on my 21 JL 4 door Rubicon...works awesome! Best, Mark

As for sagging, I used 2 Harbor Freight "tarp holdown" hooks at the "leading edge" (near the back seats) to make it more taught and discourage anyone from looking in there. A couple of zip ties to hold the hooks taught. I haven't had problems with it sagging in the rear since you can tighten the rear straps with the velcro. After 2 summers in the Phoenix sunshine it is getting a little faded but overall I think this is the right solution for you. Best of luck....

I have found absolutely bubkes in this department.

I'm looking for a cargo cover that fully covers the cargo area, doesn't require the removal of any of the hardware required to have the soft top up (e.g. tailgate bar retainers), and allows the soft top to fully retract and lock back. I've found a ton of options that interfere with the soft top locking back all the way (so mostly soft-top-compatible), but they need to be opened partially to get the soft top all the way down and I don't want stuff blowing out the back of my Jeep when I'm driving.

At this point I'm not even picky about the other features. Could be hard, could be soft, as long as I can fold my soft top back all the way, can put my soft top up all the way, and can drive around without anything blowing out of the trunk and without showing my cargo off to the world.

Anybody know anything that fits the bill?
would this work? I do not have one but it's in my list of possibilities. Looks like it would work with top down. Or you might be able to add a detent to hold it in a position that gives cover but opens enough space for softtop to drop into.

Sounded promising but the fitment statement on that link:
FITMENT - Retractable JL cargo cover custom fit for 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022 2023 2024 Jeep Wrangler JL JLU 4Door HARD TOP ONLY. (DO NOT FIT Wrangler 4XE / ANY MODEL SOFT TOP or Sky One Touch). Fits snug to optimize the space and openness to avoid unused pockets or dead space. PLEASE NOTE: Some 2024 up models need to trim the left side clip for installation see less

I just installed the GPCA Pro cover today and wanted to share my experience. The instructions weren't totally clear or transparent about the limitations of the product.

In Safari mode, everything falls into place other than a couple of small gaps. The D-clips work fine for looping through the Velcro strap. To install, you will need to pull the release lever to bring your soft top off the track and remove just the one bolt to lift up the soft top support beam to install the clips near the back seat.

When your soft top is folded onto the tailgate, you're going to have to make some adjustments. As others can attest, because the soft top folds below the lip of the tailgate, it's going to make contact with the tonneau cover. It will also block the D plates beside the tailgate. So, you're going to have to remove the straps near the tailgate and fold the cover back to the middle position.

I had a unique issue (still could be user error) where the right side of my soft top sightly juts out making contact with the D plate. You can see that it spun the plate after making some hard contact since I collapsed the top at normal speed. I adjusted the D plate, and I still made contact, but as long as I slowly fold the top, I can gently press the corner piece in to avoid any interference.

I did not need to buy special bolts or clips as much as the instructions appeared to imply that I did. I reached out to support to make sure I was doing this right but they linked to their bonus instructions while telling me to install the clips at the tailgate and the plates elsewhere, but that still would have made contact.

You haven't found a way to get the soft top to lock in its fully retracted position have you? I have mine installed and it doesn't seem to have enough room to go down far enough, even after loosening the quick release bolts on the rear D rings. I imagine I'll have to tie it down to go fully retracted which I think others have mentioned.

Also, sidenote for those who said the rear portion of the cover sags and flaps. I also happen to have the Tuffy tailogate lockbox, the deeper of the two they make, and with the tailgate closed the cover sits perfectly on the top of the lockbox which not only keeps it in place but seals the trunk that much better. Not something that will work for everyone obviously but it's an excellent combo.

It's hit and miss. I can get the left side locked but the right side won't lock sometimes. The cover must have loosened more bc I can have the cover on all the way and the soft top will push it down but just because it does still makes me a little nervous if I'm creating some uneeded friction .

for $94 that's really tempting to just try out. don't like it just give it away to a jeep buddy.
It is very frustrating to use that cover. It doesn’t fit right and it sags. I took mine off. I had to use a bar to keep the piece facing the tailgate from sagging. It needs some stiff reinforcement throughout and it would work better.
