Had a weird symptom today on Elephant Hill.

We were ready to stop for lunch but noticed that there was a relatively high pitched whine coming from around the rear passenger wheel after shutting off the engine.

Any time I stuck my head down there to listen, I got a good whiff of fuel too.

Now, I was ready to chalk up the smell to the extreme angles but the electrical motor sounding whirr had me confused.

No other symptoms.

Is this normal and I've never noticed?

Check for fuel leaks from passenger rear up to the engine. The whiff of fuel would be a good tell-tale of where it is, you should not smell fuel anywhere if you're not filling up.

That whine after shutoff could be the fuel pump working longer than it should because the fuel line is not holding pressure due to a leak.
