Yeah, eBay is full of takeoffs. One such example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/306766673328Any 4x4 shop will probably have a bin full of used Mopar driveshafts if you need one until the warranty one is available. If you don't plan to use 4wd in the near future, I would just have it removed until a new one is available.
Itās replacing broken crap with free crap. If itās free, why replace it with an expensive polished turd? Why are you replacing crap with crap? Get an Adams front driveshaft (currently in stock) and live happy.
You said it yourself, itās still just crap. And I wouldnāt relate a double cardan driveshaft to a polished turd; itās a long term fix to the temporary OEM drive shaft. Why take a chance on stock shit stranding you somewhere? It replacing broken crap with free crap. If itās free, why replace it with an expensive polished turd?
This is what I'd do, even if you have to pay for yourself.

As long as you can get a free replacement and you donāt have the upgrades to require a HD shaft, why spend the money now? If the OEM isnāt under warranty and you have to replace it, then yes, consider investing in something better. Wranglers are 4WD. A bad front drive shaft isnāt going to leave you stranded, it will just limit you to 2WD.You said it yourself, itās still just crap. You and I are thinking along the same lines. If the part still isnāt available around the 1st, Iāll probably order the Adams drive shaft. Buuuttttt he literally canāt get the OEM driveshaft. So heās living that 2wd life at the mercy of the dealer. Don't know about you but I bought a Jeep for the 4wd.As long as you can get a free replacement and you donāt have the upgrades to require a HD shaft, why spend the money now?
