Mimi rant> I am done with companies that have call centers outside the US. I have had McAfee anti-virus for the last three years. I misplaced my last password. So I was locked out. I called and with the 4th person I finally got my account unlocked. The first 3 agents were clearly in India. I could not understand 2 of the 3. The last person was clearly a US person. I am done with companies that use call centers outside the US. I now have PC Matic, a US company. In the same regards I now search for US companies to procure from. Sorry for the rant. I feel better now. LOL

And they try to convince you that they are really here in the US because the agent's names were "Greg", "Robert", and "Susan".

I ask them, " where are you really ", that can start an interesting conversation if you're willing to learn new things. Helps take the sting out of " abandoned by Corporate "

100% of my staff is from India with 90% being offshore. US companies will continue to outsource to the lowest cost vendor. I have no issue understanding them but I've worked with offshore resources for 15+ years.

I had some IBM computer equipment and their service center was in Dublin, Ireland. Have you ever talked to someone with a very heavy Irish brogue? I spoke with a young lady with a tough brogue and a very soft voice on numerous occasions, it made for a long, tough phone call. Now whenever I wind up in a non-US call center I ask to be switched to a US one. That usually works.
