Can these be used without the rest of the top on ?
That would be cool for the summer with a quick-flip for rain

Though it doesn't cover much in the back.
Didn’t know this was possible! Do you have to remove and reinstall the Sunrider to remove the entire hardtop? Can’t recall if they are connected or not.

Any pics on it open like that ?
No, I didn't catch that but it folds back just as well and exactly as it does when the rest of the roof is in place.

Yes. You will have to remove the Sunrider, then the roof, and then put the Sunrider back on. Same 6 bolts, in the same positions.

Stays in place just fine at 70 mph, closed or open.

Great option for hard top owners. IMHO

Thanks, probably get that after the lift and tires then, freedom panels aren't that bad but when overnighting door and topless I always picture someone just walking up and grabbing them in like 2 seconds, especially on a JL vs JK, at least with the JK they would have gotten tired of turning those ridiculous screws and probably given up.

Also, instant open and close like a soft top is super cool vs. freedom top

I’m really liking the flip top, but can you easily change back to hard top? I would love this for easy access on warmer days, but I’d want the option to put hard top panels back in.

Love the Sunrider. Only downside is that it’s loud on a windy day but well worth it.

It’s not too bad. I’m kinda used to it… it’s definitely quieter than the roof rails I run in the winter..

I dumped the freedom panels and the back seat when I bought my two door ten years ago. The sunrider is the best mod I did. I use it almost daily. The new one for the JL is much easier to operate.

FYI, according to Bestop, the Sunrider should NOT be used without the hardtop. Take that for what it's worth.
Thanks, they kinda almost sorta perhaps answered that to me as well
Problem was they couldn't come up with even a single reason why as though they simply looked at the photos they had and all of them showed the rest of the top still on
And they also said that some of there customers use them without the rest of the top without issue
Pretty much non-answers from them as they sat on the fence wavering and being elusive rather than simply checking and actually answering a question
Thanks though, someone will be more definitive who has this thing on once summers back and those tops go into storage. No rush as its rather expensive anyways considering we can already take the freedom tops off and this would be a mild convenience while the rest of the top is on.
I don't mind pouring rain with the front tops on and the doors and big top off even parking overnight.
It does look like a good product so perhaps someone who buys a "lot car" near me with that option who doesn't want it will get me a deal - Dreaming a bit, but, who knows ? ?

I've driven with just the Sunrider for many miles before going back to the Bestop Trektop NX soft top. No issues.

Do what you will, and enjoy your Jeep. ?‍♂
