Mods please move if not the right section but I have some interior and exterior redo questions.

I just bought my first Jeep. A white 2020 Rubicon. I never owned a jeep. I'm a pretty handy individual but cars/trucks have never been my thing so I'm starting off very easy.

1. I need sill guards. I have 2 young kids and they are needing to use the sills to climb in and out. I don't really like how the molar ones don't cover up the lip so I started to hunt. I saw the bushwacker ones which look nice, but read you have to take the factory rock rail off and I don't know if I like how they will stick out under the door especially with a white truck. So the ones I'm considering are these.

Opinions. Should I be looking at something else. I just want rock solid protection and to not look very aftermarket. I just want them to blend in with the truck.

2. Lights. We do a ton of night fishing on the river. I actually bought the jeep for pulling a river boat I'm getting from my uncle next season. I have the tow package so I have the 4 aux switches. I know the top 2 are for larger things, but the bottom 2 are for lighting and smaller applications. I want to do 2 A pillar lights and a hood 30 inch strip. I don't know what companies are the go to for jeep. So I have landed here so far cause they come with all I need. Opinions on their quality? Do they mount well? the pillar ones are different from other ones I have seen.

3. Tint. My buddy has me calling they who tints his trucks. I didn't ask hime any details on what I should do. I figured I would ask here. Anything I need to ask? I'm going to match the front with the other windows as dark to keep them legal.

4. Antenna. I totally didn't realize the jeep still used a whip. Makes sense being a convertible.

This one ok? I figured longer is better for reception, so what i the shortest I should go? 15 inch?

That's about all I can think of so far. Today was my first full day driving it. I loved it. Was a fun day of driving. No issues. I want to do some other stuff but I want to deal with this stuff first. Especially the sill guards.

I appreciate everyones input. Sorry if these are really noob questions, but like I said this is outside my realm of comfort, but I want to learn as I go with this jeep.

Thanks,
jim

I don't have anything for 1 or 2. #3 - each state has different laws in regards to window tint. Any reputable shop should know the specs for your state. #4 - I bought this antenna from Amazon and it works fine.

And congrats on your new jeep. Welcome to the Just Empty Every Pocket club.

Don't cover the lip. It will cause door seals to leak.

Regarding tint: just remember the back windows are privacy glass - not tinted. It probably won't be a big deal if you live up north, but here in FL, tint is a necessity. The place that tinted my Jeep said the back privacy glass is close to 20%, so you'd have to tint the front to that if you want it to match. I went with 15% all around, which put the back windows around 5%.

Anything less than 35% on the front windows is illegal in FL, but in over 20 years, no cop has ever stopped me or said anything about my tint. Some states are more laid back than others, so do this at your own risk.

i totally didn't even think about that. I'm up north. I just wanted to try and get a close match all around. so does that mean i will still get all the windows done? i figured just the front.

I wanted to tint the back windows for the added security as well. If you don't care about that and don't need heat protection then yeah, just tint the front windows.
