So a friend at work accidently hit me today when he was pulling into a parking spot to talk to me. The only damage appears to be on the fender below the light (2020 Sport S). Of course he offered to get it fixed. I don't know if we can fix the spot without replacing the fender. I am at work now but will attach a picture once I can. Now I need to decide if I do change fenders what to go with. I am hoping to go with an option that is not to expensive as I don't want to hit him over the head with the cost but also don't want to end up with ugly or poor quality fenders. Or should I go with a Chop kit from @Quake LED as all the damage looks to be in the part of the fender that will be removed. I will appreciate any helpful info or ideas.

Here are pics. It’s really not to bad. If it is fixable how would I go about doing it?

First priority, keep your friend. They took responsibility, be as easy on them as possible. If you want to upgrade, only ask for the cost of OEM. The good news is Jeep fenders are designed to get damaged and be easily replaced, not having painted fenders makes that even easier.

Replacement OEM fenders are around $175 IIRC and they're not all that difficult to replace by yourself.

You could also try asking around your local Jeep club. Someone may have some take-off fenders from an upgrade that they'll be happy to get rid of at a bargain.

That’s not awful but it’s tough trying to fix dings like that. I don’t know if any good tricks other than trying to heat it up and massage the plastic back into shape.

The Quake chop kit would most likely take care of the blemish you have, or you could look for some take-offs. Like @Reinen said, they are super easy to replace.
I’ll add to his suggestion -also check with your dealership or independent shops for take-offs.

I have a set of Sport take-offs I’d give you for nothing- but your location makes that kinda tricky.

Good point @rohdawg and I'll add to your add.

If you do find a take-off fender for cheap or nothing, charge your friend some beers and time to help you replace it. That tends to make better friends. ;)

I knew they were easy to replace but I assumed they cost more than that. I guess all the ones I have seen have the lights installed which I don't need.

One question do you just buy some more rivets and rivet the fender liner back to the fender when replacing?

Yeah I will try to mess with it first once I get a day off but don't have a lot of hope of being able to reshape it.

I would love to find some takeoffs near to save some money. He already felt bad enough when it happened. I told him not to worry about it we would figure it out but he just kept apologizing.

Sorry to hear about the accident! If you would like a chop kit I would love to help you out so message me directly if you decide to go that route (it definitely removes that entire section of the fender).

I will add that, a lot of people that opt to replace their fender with aftermarket ones are virtually giving their old ones away, so you might be able to find a direct replacement on FB market place or craigslist. Worth a look for sure!

Good luck and hopefully all turns out in the end!
