Hi,
Keep Wrangler 2017 Unlimited Sport, stock audio system
The factory uconnect has been in a boot loop for months. I got around to installing an after market radio with a PAC module.
Hooked up everything properly.
Radio, gets power, lights come on..... and...... same bootloop. Lights come on, logo flashes for half a second and then back to black screen.
I checked the radio fuses, I checked my battery at rest which is 12.4v
I multimetered the harness and it's getting it's required voltage and it's constant.
Here's the kicker, before I bought the name brand stuff, I bought a 140$ Amazon dash and head unit android combo, and it came with its own little module like the PAC.
And that boots all the way and works fine, but it's cheap and i didn't like the quality so I got the real stuff with the pac module.
Something tells me it has to do with the car seeing the new PAC module and since the cheap android unit used it’s own Chinese fake module, it bypasses the stock system presentation, and it boots right up.
I really want to retain my chimes and fix the issue and not just go around it such as, skipping the module, losing my chimes, running an acc from a fuse.
What we know:
The original uconnect was in boot loop. Happened randomly
the after market uses PAC module and the boot loop persists.
a cheap Chinese android unit, with its own Chinese module, boots right up.
Ineed help figuring this out
