Yes, with one exception.Slap a self-locking nut on it with a flat washer and get back to work, you’ll be fine and can ya repeat the Ron White Sears joke?
Use enough flat washers to put the entire nut on good threads. Cleaning / chasing those threads with a die or new nut won't help - there's not enough thread material left.
