I’m looking to tap power that’s only active when the *engine* (not just the ignition) is on. I’ve seen this discussed in other threads, but I don’t think the answer was correct.
There, it was suggested that the fuse for the heated seats only get power when the engine is on. But I just tested it, and that fuse has power anytime the ignition is on as well.
What I’m trying to do is signal a relay that will power certain high-drain items only when the engine is on, so the battery doesn’t drain. I know in my LJ all of the fuses are always hot, so you have to tap the wire to the fuel pump to get an engine-only signal. I’m hoping there’s an easier solution in the JL.
Ideas? Is my particular Jeep just weird?
