I put 33s on my Sport, and just checked it at 80mph. Still tracks like a train. Lost a little power, but that’s ok. Can’t tell that I lost any mpg.

I went with 255/80s rather than 285/70s, because I wanted the height but not the width or weight.

I’m happy.

I have an opportunity (thanks to #walweb !) to switch to a Rubicon suspension for very little money, though, and he’s going to let me help him install it. I’m excited about that as a learning experience.

My Jeep has NO steering issues. I don’t want to risk causing any. Is there any such risk with the swap?

Any other potential problems/downside?

I swapped out a Rubi Suspension, and Tires/Wheels, on my Sport S. Zero issues. Only 2 mph difference at around 60-65 mph. I love the 285/70/18 tires.

So no change in steering/handling? Did you get an alignment?

I put in a Rubicon suspension on my Sahara just last Thursday. It sits an inch higher but really isn't much different apart from a slightly stiffer ride. I've noticed the steering wheel is a few degrees to the left but tomorrow night when we retorque the bolts we'll fix that. My buddy says that happens every time you go to a higher suspension and is pretty easy to realign.

Yes, I had an Alignment done. I paid Firestone extra, and got their "Lifetime Alignment" done. Straight as an arrow, no pulling, no issues.
