I just saw this on a Facebook group. I have been toying the idea of deleting the back seat. There are some good options on the market but I am not spending $1500+ to delete the rear seat. Especially some companies force you to buy the cargo floor panel to complete the seat delete, which I have no interest in adding a panel for drawer/fridge tight down points.
This has the drawing with dimensions. Total cost is about $70 in materials. A great DIY project for people just want a platform that works with OE cargo floor panel.

Well done!! I have to ask though, wouldn't this have been easier?

Looks nice! When you open the rear doors, from the sides can you access the empty space underneath the board for some extra storage space for smaller items?

My only suggestion is to go by a stereo shop (or auto upholstery shop) and get matching carpet, so it looks more seamless, but what you've got works.

Yeah. I agree. I didnt make it just sharing what I saw on Facebook. I will probably try that and perhaps add a support to the middle. The guy told me he used 0.5" board.

I had done basically the same thing. I put extra carpet flap to hang down over the opening underneath the platform to give it a finished look. It doesn't look like it, but you can fit a ton of stuff under there!

that’s exactly what I did except I put two 10x14 drop in doors like in the picture for easy access. You can reach way up under the seats for more storage

Home Depot has a carpet that matches the factory Jeep feel pretty well, and over time the color has started matching better too. Cant for the life of me remember what it was called but we used it for our insert when we made one so the dogs had a flatter area to stand.

this is pretty awesome, not sure if it’s obvious or not but will these measurements fit my 2018 JL as well?
