Hi everyone. I have trouble finding out how to disable Bluetooth on my Wrangler Outlander 2018 Jk model either from my dealer or the Jeep uk customer services. There is no option in the Uconnect menu to disable Bluetooth, like in every other car I have seen, which seems very odd.
Does anybody know how to do this?
Also does anybody know whether the Bluetooth module in the recent wranglers is a stand-alone module that can be removed or is it built into other parts?
Any advise on the subject is welcome. Thank you.

I can't disable BT in my Denali, FYI.

I don't think I've ever had a vehicle that I could disable Bluetooth. Why do you need this? Either don't pair your phone or turn off Bluetooth on your phone.

It's not like an iPhone, where you can disable Bluetooth. As others have already mentioned, just don't pair or set up a device, or disable it from your device. I'm not sure why there would be a need to "deactivate" Bluetooth from your vehicle, since you'd only use it to pair a handheld device.

I arrived at this site during a Google search on how to disable Bluetooth in my 300C. I used to have a small Bluetooth speaker in my former car, then bought the Explorer and installed a Bluetooth head unit to stream music from my phone to the sound system in the truck. I began experiencing headaches and distorted vision from time to time, which I attributed to my glasses being imperfectly prescribed. The incidents increased over time in strength, duration, and frequency, until one day I was forced to close one eye just to get to the side of the road and wait it out. I had intense nausea as well. As my vision began to normalize after 2 minutes, the nausea went away like it was switched off.

The moment I got home, I Googled Bluetooth and dizziness, and found a few hits where people complained of vertigo from Bluetooth use. I'd heard of vertigo, but knew nothing about it. According to my reading, I had the symptoms. I switched to an aux cord and stopped using the Bluetooth except for short calls from the road, disabling it as soon as I was through with the call. The dizziness and double vision spells decreased over the next few weeks until I stopped having attacks altogether. This past Friday, I bought my 300C... :/

I've seen a video on YouTube where a guy held an instrument near his head unit and showed that the Bluetooth signal would pulse every few seconds or so. Even when there was no phone paired, the system would still search for one. I ride with the Bluetooth disabled on my phone, and still feel the effects when the car is running.

I don't think that EVERYONE is sensitive to the signals, but some definitely are. I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones, damn it. I'm going to keep looking for a solution to disabling Bluetooth in my car. I'd hate to have to give it up for this reason. It's absolutely beautiful and a joy to drive, but if I can't stay behind the wheel for hours at a time, it'll have to go.
