Del Sur Ridge

I may be heading out to Del Sur Ridge on Friday with a buddy. He is still a TBD though so if anyone is interested in going let me know.

Would be early (like 8AM) to avoid the hot temps up in Santa Clarita. Trail takes about 3ish hours so planning to be done by lunch time.

It's mostly a fire road with a couple of offshoots. Not difficult at all but has nice views.

I just did this trail a few weeks ago on a Monday... they are doing trail repair on it and I was told I could not pass the grader for safety reasons. I gave him a sob story about driving 2hrs there and taking my wife offroad for the first time, blah, blah. He said they needed to take lunch anyway and would look the other way! Lol. I was unclear which days it was open, but he implied just weekends and the project is going to take all summer...

To add. A few of the offshoots are fenced off now, but there are at least 5+ that are challenging enough to scare my wife. And when you get to the end of one, turn around and run it backwards. Actually a really fun trail! If I didn't work FRI, I'd totally run with you guys assuming we could get past the grader!

Hmm yeah I wonder where the grader is now. I guess worse case we could turn around and go over to Drinkwater.

It's only about a 40 minute drive up there for me but I'd hate to get all the way there and not be able to run it.

I'm also fine to go Saturday instead.

@rivercrossing what say you? Should we go Saturday to avoid running into construction?

At one end is Grass Mountain and at the other is Ruby canyon 6N24. Ruby has a few small river crossings but they may be dry this time of year.

The Arco on the sand canyon exit of the 14 would be good.

@rivercrossing and I had a great day out the trail. The entrance to Ruby Road was washed out so we thought we were going to be in for a crazier day than we anticipated. Once we got past the entrance it turned into fire road though.

Overall an easy chill trail. I'd say Del Sur has more obstacles than Ruby and Tule Divide. Was fun to get the Jeep back on dirt after having it sit in the driveway for so long though.
