New to the forums;

Hello All. I have been reading through many threads hoping to gather as much information as possible. feel free to read the below book, if you'd like, and offer insight.

I last owned a 2011/2012 fully loaded 2 door Sahara that was lemon-lawed. Left a bad taste in my mouth and I left the Jeep brand for the past 8 or so years. I was not planning on ever coming back to own a Jeep but here I am.

I recently test drove a fully loaded Rubicon at a dealer lot in Mass (bad decision, I know) Loved it. But the dealership was very shady and 5 minutes into pricing discussions, I was out the door. 3 hour drive, one way to go see and test drive the Rubi, it didn't end well.

I was not planning on spending 50k on a Jeep either (wow have they started to get pricey!). I wanted a Jeep with decent options, decent looks and it seems I am stuck with having to purchase a Rubi (with off-road specs I likely will not use) but is the only model with decent options (tisk tisk, Jeep!). I spec'd out a Sport S; was NOT impressed with the low grade interior options, lack of colored fender flare or hard top, crap wheels, etc. The Sahara is not an option for me as it only comes in 4 door now, which I don't want or need.

In addition to trying to stomach a 48k pricetag on a Rubi; I am trying to get feedback on local dealers to work with (within central or eastern CT). Willing to travel slightly to Mass or RI as well for the right deal. I have read that some Mass dealers are offering 5-6% below invoice?? Is this still being offered? Are there any CT dealers offering such deals?

II am coming to the conclusion I will likely have to order one as any available Rubi's in the immediate area don't have the options I prefer.

Looking at the following
Rubicon
2 door
Navigation
LED lights
Body Color Fender Flares
Leather
Cold Weather Package
Hard Top

Bought mine a while ago from Executive Jeep in North Haven.
5% under invoice with Tread Lightly.
Very smooth to deal with in terms of order and delivery. No pressure.

I steer clear of dealer referrals for the most part. Will tell you though, that you might also want to get the Trailer Tow and HD Electrical Group.

Can tell you quite a few guys here sure wished they had done this but did not... mainly out ignorance.

Research this add on. Do know that you sure as heck may want the package, even if you do not plan on towing. Also, the price is right for what you will get with the package.

I drive past a dealer to buy from SCAP. They are a great crew. No hassle. Literally called in my order and no deposit required on this Jeep or my last. Extremely low key. They have a huge inventory. You can check online.
My neighbor says they are real Wrangler experts, and even offer how-to training days where they teach first time owners how to change from hard to soft top, etc. Pretty cool.

Anyway, @1986CJ7 now has three positive experiences at three different dealerships and can start doing his own due diligence.
