after forgetting to remove my plate from my hitch when having some fun on the weekend and loosing it in the mud and needing to seach for half an hour for it. i decided to move the plate up and out of the way, only spot i liked was on the spare. no way in hell was i going to spend $100+ to buy one.
used the left over 3/4" square tube from my mudflaps and drilled a simple few holes with rivnuts to secure the plate to the tube. the mount is attached via two bolts tapped into the top two lug nuts. light still needs to get wired but it is a simple standoff from the main bar. using torx bolts it all can be removed to access the spare using the small jeep torx kit, i only added a t30 to it. overall for less than an hour of work and under 5$ in materials im happy with the outsome.
