Alrighty, I got around to looking into a simple way to automate electric window roll up and roll down with factory controls or FOB key remote.
Firstly, I thought of 555 timer relay modules but realized many would like plug and play with minimal mods.
This timer relay module is more accurate with digital timing. You can set it for seconds (default), milliseconds, microseconds and minutes. With each timing it has a timer up to 9999.
Here is a YouTube video on operation... i had to watch 2x. The instruction was a little fast but covered all the details
This nifty little module is programmable and stores all settings even when disconnected from a power source.
Here are a few ideas that can be done with an easy to use and versatile, 7 mode timer module.
1) Auto roll up when lock button is pressed or FOB lock button is pressed (after closing door). You can use 2x lock from FOB to stop windows up before completing closure. To utilize 2x unlock, the module's countdown mode must be set to allow countdown reset (Stop). Any other modes set can make the windows up or windows down functions erratic.
2) Auto roll down when unlock button is pressed 2x with stop on third press of unlock.
To utilize 2x unlock the module's countdown mode must be set to allow countdown reset (Stop).
The first unlock press when vehicle is remote locked and left for 5 minutes, will power module from UCoonect. The second unlock press will activate module to roll down windows during countdown. If wanting windows to be partially down press unlock a third time to stop.
This module can be used for other things but my focus was on power windows and will keep it there on this thread.
I haven't got around to wiring things up. But I do plan on using UConnect power either from tapping its connector or through USB. USB would be a plug and play option for powering the device.
You will need two modules. One for windows up and the other windows down.
As for triggering... I'll tap into the powered lock connector. The lock operation functions the same, either remotely or by lock switches. So triggering is a one wire job.
The window switch connector will be tapped to control both front windows with the timer relay.
More will be added when I get there... i have a few things that are all inclusive when time and weather permits. Hidden wiring for my new ditch lights, front 1080 cam, 12v 250A auxiliary power outlet for my 12v to 110v 2000w continuous inverter, and custom door puddle lights.
