I did a pre-run today. Very windy out in the flats, but not bad in Painted Gorge or up the mountain. We had no issues going around the big block in the gorge, however, the floor of the gorge had a lot of water go through and is fun. Where the trail leaves the gorge we had to rebuild the trail because it was washed out. I took some pictures, below. Most of the sand is gone from the trail and is extremely rocky. I love this trail. Not a beginner trail.

It's going to be hot out there this weekend. It is important that we hit the trail early. I expect to be done before noon. It could be around 100, so be prepared

We had 5 jeeps start the run and quickly 2 had mechanical issues before we started. That left 3 jeeps. It was hot (close to 100) but with the wind was bearable. The trail is challenging with nonstop rocks and big drop offs on the side of the trail. I could see doing another run this year before the gates are locked January 01, if enough people are interested.

What mechanical issues did they have?

One of the people had a roll over a while back and after he fixed the jeep he forgot to check the linkage to the transfer case so couldn't engage 4 wheel drive. The other person went with him to make sure that there was no issues. This mountain trail requires 4x4, no ifs and or butts
