When Discount Tire was installing my new wheels/tires yesterday they asked which center caps I wanted to use, the Jeep ones that were in my stock wheels or the ones that come in AEV wheels. I figured it would be neat to still have the Jeep ones I went with that, but unfortunately they don't actually work with the wheels.

As you can see, they're quite loosey-goosey. Does anyone know of a tool or improvised tool I can use so I don't have to go through the hassle of jacking it up and taking off all 4 wheels?

Go easy... use a nylon, automotive trim removal pry tool. Cap pry/pop off. Pic shows a wheel with a Threedom wheel cap.

Some guys will also use a piece of Duct Tape where the pry tool meets the wheel.

Less risk of damage pulling the wheels!

Yeah, the DT guy brought one out and we both thought it looked close enough to the AEV cap to work, now we know haha.

So a tool kit like this would work?

Yes.... that kit ....but do know that there is a risk of damaging the finish on the rim when you pry the cap off. Not a big risk but you can damage the finish. IF you use a pry tool, go easy and use some Duct tape placed where the pry tool touches the wheel.

IF those Jeep caps are a bit loose, you will probably see them come off quite easily..

Check out Amazon or Harbor Freight... you just need a cheapo kit..

Thanks! I'll definitely lay down some tape on the wheels, first.
