Good afternoon! I bought my daughter a 2 door Wrangler Sport. Automatic 2.0 4 cylinder. I want to give it a lift, but keep it affordable. I hear a lot about the AEV spacer lift. I‘m looking to fit 255/85/17” Mickey Thompsons since they’ll fit on the OEM wheels. I want to avoid death wobble at all cost. It will at most see light trails, no rock crawling.

I had a Gladiator I put the Clayton 3.5” overland kit on, which is a complete kit with all 8 control arms and springs. I don’t want to drop that amount on this project. What do you all recommend that will track down the road well, but still give enough lift to fit the tires I want?

AEV Kit
Mopar Kit
Add adjustable track bars?

With the lift, stock wheels, at the Mickey’s, will we see any rubbing?

Thanks!

What year is it?

How much lift do you want vs. need. If you are just going to 35" tires and she is only planning on light trails you can likely go with a spacer lift. AEV or Teraflex make spacer lifts that will work. Add some longer Fox 2.0 shocks and it will work.

Another good option is to find a set of Rubicon suspension take offs. If you put a 4dr take off kit on a 2 dr. sport it will life it a little over 1.5". You just need to make sure you get the right take off spring numbers.

Here is a link to a thread with WAY more info that you could ever need on springs and suspension.

If she’s a new driver, skip the lift until she gets some experience behind the wheel.

285/70/17 (32.8”) will fit without a lift. You may want to upgrade the shocks though.
