Jeep Wrangler JL Battery's IMG_9310

100% my fault I killed batteries. But after first roadside couldn't jump it with high amp NOCO and wait over 7 hrs for flatbed to jump. I started looking at dual battery kits. Nearly spent $1100 on genisis gen 3 until I read comments from people that have gotten stuck still with it because it's cutoff it to low to crank Jl's sometimes. I found kits online like the auto isolator my boat came with 25 years ago. And for $60 and up you can get automatic ones that isolate main battery at higher voltages to ensure Jl's start. One guy commented pictures of his full size aux mounted in the tiny trunk since 19 and runs fridge camping and zero issues. For me it's piece of mind knowing my daughter isn't going to get stuck and have to get step still out of trunk and climb my 4" lifted and try jumping it

The V6 comes with 2 batteries. One is a small aux battery and the other one is a larger main battery. You can easily disconnect both batteries by removing fuse42 (if I remember correctly). And unplugging the aux's negative cable.

You keep the aux healthy by plugging a charger every 2 weeks or by plugging it back to the jeep when going for a long drive.

In the case your main battery dies, you simply plug the aux and it will start the jeep.

In the case you need to run a refrigrator or any other electrical stuff simply buy a lifepo4 battery. Theyve come down in price and it is much better than something like the overpriced genesis.

That's a lot more work than just buying two full size batteries and installing isolator and not having to do anything but push start

Hey @Joe jl what are you posting about? Did you install the thing in the first picture or are you PUI? Are you asking, or telling, and if either of those, what? Your post just seems like a random thought pulled out of the ether and posted on a forum. Context maybe? Is this the sort of post a person makes right before they do something awful? You kill batteries, cool, like for a living?

The pictured device disconnects at 12.8 V, the Genesis system disconnects at 12.7 V. That difference in voltage threshold is entirely inconsequential.

I mean not really since the system is already installed. Removing a fuse and disconnecting the wire takes less than 1 minute and only done once.

What is your house load? Unless it's just a fridge or inverter, not going to help much since all the Jeep circuits are integrated.
