Any know why they have Aux battery listed under optional equipment on my buildsheet? If that is for the ESS, why would that be considered optional. I don’t have the tow package.

Research on the forum using the words ESS, ESS Battery, Aux battery. ALL JL's have the aux battery, it is for ESS. It resides under your power distribution center.

Not sure why it is listed as optional on build sheet.

Yeah, it is just odd that is listed as optional equipment when all JL wranglers have that as far as I can tell.

Next year's BSG V6 is not going to have the AUX battery, right? I'm imagining it's a way to keep track of which JLs have it, and which future ones won't.

And the JL's manual states that the capability to remove the doors is provided for off-road use only (page 42).

And on page 25, it states, "Never remove the mechanical key while the vehicle is moving, as the steering wheel will automatically lock as soon as the key is turned."

Once my JL comes in, I'm going to have to look at the steering column pretty closely since I was under the impression that they had (unfortunately) gotten ride of the steering column key and replaced it with the over-convoluted keyless crap.
