Alright, the owner's manual says with the doors off, seatbelt off, AND no driver detected, it'll switch into park. I'm very much sitting in the driver's seat, but it keeps going into park. Do I need to take it in to a mechanic? I'm small, but I'm at least 100 lbs. Called the dealer and they told me to disable auto park with the button on my dash. So, not ever taking it there ... Help?

Is your seatbelt fastened? If memory serves, the Jeep knows the doors off because of it being unplugged, so not having a door, it's wanting the belt on.

Well I can't say for sure but since it doesn't happen all the time, it probably only happens when the seatbelt isn't buckled. But the manual says with the doors off, I should be able to put it in great with my seat belt off.

I had this happen to me the other day. I had the doors off and I was just coasting. I did have my seatbelt on. It jerked to a stop and then the “D” flashed.

Oh no, with your seatbelt on? That sounds like a malfunction?

I didn't go anywhere today so I didn't get a chance to test it.

I haven’t tried again to see if I can replicate it yet.
