Has anyone mounted an Awning straight to the hard top? I don’t really need a roof rack, just looking to mount an ARB awning directly to the hard top.

Hi Jason, I have been looking into this too, and so far no luck. Let me know if you have any joy!

30-35 pounds. Not super heavy. My only concern is that I have two mounts holding it vs three that I har on my trailer. There are two bolts per mount. I may add a third cross bar if I decide to keep it on when I wheel any difficult trails that have big rocks with jarring drops. Most of the time when I am running trails like that I have my soft top on. For daily driving and medium difficulty trails it will be fine. If I get a basket at some point I will mount it to that with three attachment points. Just not sure I need a basket. They tend to make more noise and take more time to get on and off than my cargo carrier. Plus I can put stuff in the cargo carrier loose and it keeps dry.

I just remembered that ARB makes a mount with 3 bolts vs mine with 2. I may upgrade to that at some point for piece of mind.
