I am the Project Super for an electrical company. We do break and repair, service calls etc. We also have a projects division that I am looking for help on. Pay is ok @ $17-18 starting plus per diem. Hotels and transportation are covered and paid. The guys are averaging 65-75 hours a week and OT is after 40. (Sorry California guys, no can hire)

After 90 days we have BC/BS Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k with immediate 3% match, short and long term Disability ins, Life ins, accrued PTO and 1 week off for all major Holidays except Christmas, Christmas is usually 13-15 days. A lot of guys leave the country.

I do offer 2nd chances to Felons, so long as it's not in the realm of "kid diddling" or elderly abuse...... People can change, animals cannot.

No EXP is fine, starting pay stays the same. I will front your tools and teach you hands on. All hours accumulated are under one of our ML Electricians and will count toward your Journeyman LC.

Traveling can be tough. My guys are out 4-7 weeks at a time. If you're looking for an opportunity to stack some cash with good benefits, this is a good spot.

Why no Cali?
Cali has weird overtime laws; like anything over 8 hours in a day is overtime and if you work so many days in a row.

My previous jobs where 100% travel, usually large daily rate with daily per diem (wasn’t paid when home, hence large daily rate) and some was yearly base salary with daily per diem and a bonus if you worked so many days in a year. So I never worried about hourly or overtime pay. Both where 3 weeks on and 2-3 weeks off. One pay method motivates me to work longer rotations, the other (with salary) I’m not… I always get employers to cover hotel and travel expenses (hotels can be very expensive in small random towns where there’s government funded projects).

One thing I would want to know if I was interested in this position and would advise others to ask:

How is pay processed when it comes to state income tax concerns?

This isn’t consistent between companies. One may pay based on where you reside, no mater where you work or it’s corporate office is located (this saved me a lot of money being located in Florida). Another didn’t care and would pay us as if we lived and worked in their state (had to pay their state income tax) even if we never worked in said state. Another company would pay and charge income tax based on the state(s) you worked in (this was nightmare come tax time; having a dozen state income taxes to file).

Another question, how is hotel and travel paid for?

This reflects how you will receive points if this is something you’re interested in. I prefer employers who let me charge my own, either via company card or my personal card and reimburse me. I would not work for another company that does something like CLC, huge headache and I almost never received points. You travel half the year, points add up. I received basically a $5,000 tax free bonus due to points annually.

This could be a great opportunity for a young single guy/gal or someone freshly divorced and no kids grown. It’s very fun and great a way to get paid to travel

Pay/Taxes are processed and based on your home state.
As for travel, travel is paid hourly and calculates into OT as well.
We do use CLC. You can sign up with your info and collect the points. (I do this as well) Our Foremen are issued multi swipe CLC cards. They are able to get multiple rooms for their teams. Hotels are probably our largest expense, so we have to utilize it. Example: I'm staying in a Drury Inn for the next 2 weeks. The rooms are booking for $145 a night plus tax, CLC rate is $73.41.
My green guys with zero experience are averaging take home 1900-2400 biweekly.
Perdiem is added to your check, post tax, bi-weekly.
