+1 on the quadratec. I have the 2 door version and it i really nice. Takes less than a minute to put on. Very well fit.

I’ve been looking at the Rain Gear Covers but don’t know anyone who owns one and those guys don’t respond to emails or phone calls. Does the trail cover fit over the folded back soft top of a JL? I asked them and they were like “maybe “,

I don't have the soft top, but I can tell you it fits pretty snugly all around and it's angled steeply at the rear. It depends on how high the soft top sits folded down. If it sits too much above the spare, probably not. Without the soft top, there's some sagging in the center if the straps are too loose.
I think you can get away with it since there's plenty of slack with the tie-down straps. According to their cutesy little picture, it will fit. Having "WILL" in all caps seems oxymoronic to "most." If anything it's more like "will" and "MOST."
