Just picked up a 2026 Durango GT w/ the 5.7 AWD. I'm interested in other owner experiences with the Durango. This is my first 5.7, had challengers with the 6.4. I feel it's always an unknown going into a Stellantis product, but I really want to enjoy this Durango. This is also my first AWD vehicle. Is the Durango rear wheel drive biased until there is slippage in the front? Also, is it true if one tire go down, you have to replace all 4 so tread depth is equal?

I've got a '15 Citadel Hemi. Been a great ride for us. Bought it used with 42k on the clock, at 136k now. Done a lot of towing with it right at its 7200 lb limit without fail. Mechanically the only issue I have had is the exhaust manifold bolts breaking. I had the right side fixed around 100k, now the left side needs the same treatment. This is a common Hemi issue.

The AWD is a clutch pack setup. Primarily rear wheel drive until something slips then it will send power to the front. As for tires, I run the OEMs. With the towing I tend to wear out the rears first. So now I am on a schedule of replacing a pair at a time, new tires up front and used to the rear.

They have been making the platform for over 15 years now, the bugs are long since worked out. Don't worry and enjoy it!

Sweet man, thanks for the reply. I have heard about the manifold bolt issue, and the "dreaded Hemi tick." Don't know what to think about the tick thing. Didn't have my 6.4's long enough to encounter any issues.

If the tick happens when cold then quiets down when the engine warms up, it is the exhaust manifold. If it is ticking all the time it is a cam/lifter issue. You've got many years before anything might show up.
