Air down stock tires?

Ok - I am completely new to Jeep. Never saw myself in one until I went for a test drive - AND WAS HOOKED! My family loves our new 4 door JL. We live in Michigan and are headed to Silver Lake dunes this weekend. I said to my wife - Hey, we can take the Jeep and go Off-Roading!! My question is this: can I air down my stock tires to run in sand and on the beach? If so, what pressure is recommended? Any other recommendations / suggestions? Thanks!!

What tires do you have? I was just there this past weekend and have the BFG KO2's and had them down to 8 psi and they ran great all weekend. 8-15 is recommended on the dunes.

And watch out for the water holes, they're deep in some on not in others. And you need a flag for the front, they sell everything you need at the four wheel stores by the entrance.

Don't forget...after you air them down, you'll need to air them back up for the drive home on the highway!
