Please forgive me with this, it's been a few decades for me...
I'm looking to hook up the wires for a Hooke hood protector/bug shield with led marker lights. I don't have accessory switches or any other electrical mods, and I'm a little apprehensive after reading about how fragile and sensitive our electrical system are. When I was a kid I used to just pop a fuse out and bend the ends of the wires around the tabs and plug it back in the fuse panel. Would I be able to do this with the keyed cigarette lighter fuse?
I'm not a fan of splicing it into working, as. Not even sure I'm going to love this, so I really don't wanna hack up electrical wiring. Seems like I could, but figured I'd ask here because I'm still a newb to this wrangler.
Anyone have one of these? I've read mixed reviews about the fit and finish, but found it on Amazon so if it doesn't line up well with the hood, back it goes.
Thanks for any help :)

I can’t answer about if the that fuse would work but I would recommend getting a add a fuse much easy and cleaner

They have fuse taps you can buy for this. If you're going to keep wiring accessories you'll want to get something better. You could add the aux switches, in my case the Rough Country MLC-6 was a good fit.

If you want a clean way to tap into your 12v power port, I would suggest something like this. It even has an inline fuse holder for your added accessory.
Please don't use the method you've suggested above... that's the epitome of "hack".....

All that said, after looking at that thing on Amazon..... save your $100.

I see where that looks cleaner, and less like a hack, although it really seems to accomplish the same thing as my hack;)
As far as you not liking the bug shield, I get that we don't all agree on this stuff. I hate angry grills, etc. This just kinda looks cool to me, and again that's why I got it off Amazon. I plan to test for it and if it looks like crap I can just send it back. If it conforms to the hood, I think I'm going to like the look. I have a black grill, so I think it won't separate the colors like in the pic.
Thanks all for the advice, I really didn't know about the fuse tap things and I will pick one up. I just have to find the correct fuse and see if it's one of those tiny newer style fuses. I remember reading that the lighter fuse and the one for the rear power port can be changed to the neighboring slot to either operate full time or with the ignition.

Sorry about sticking my opinion in right there at the end. Sometimes I don't know when to shut up! ?

No, I actually appreciate it, because it is making me second guess it. I don't want to look like a squid or anything. I'm going to see how it looks finish wise, then test fit it and call my 17 year old down for an opinion. He thinks my tail light protectors "look like something from rocket league" ;)
It's all good, man.

Well, looks like I don't need to worry about it! I actually like the look of this thing.. everyone else said it looks cheap. Anyway, the front edge fits good enough, but for Some reason they flared it up in the center along the back edge, so it sits an inch off the hood. So the adhesive along the front would make water pool.inside of it... I can't see what they were thinking. Glad it's Amazon and it's already back on the box to be returned. I think I will buy the rugged ridge hood protector, same kind of look but lower profile and no LEDs. Thanks anyway, guys.
Here it is just loosely sitting in place.

It's made that way on purpose. The raised center section is to fit the raised center of the hood on the Rubicon and other trim levels. they should be more specific in their fitment description. Is yours a Sport or Sahara?

I have a Willys, so sport hood. It would have been nice if they mentioned that I wouldn't have wasted the shipping. I can't see putting it on and having that big gap back there.
