4xe delete tune possible!?

Full disclosure I’m a diesel owner but had a thought as I got passed by a 4xe today.

If a diesel can be tuned to remove the emissions after treatment can a 4xe be tuned to be just a regular turbo 2.0?

remove the equipment that makes it a phev and just have a normal gas jeep? This would seem to open up a lot of used 4xe. Does this already exist and I don’t know it yet?

You would need to buy a 2.0 Jeep with a bad engine and swap the 4xe engine in. That's pretty much your option.

no, the PHEV part is completely intertwined with the drive train. you'd spend more than the vehicle is worth to convert it.

The 4xe already has a 2.0 gas engine. PLUS the additional torque of an electric motor.
