So i have a 2021 Wrangler 4 door Willys sport (3.6) w the black 17in rims. I plan on lifting it 1.25 and was planning on putting on 285s w the current tires wear out. I would like the tires to poke out a little more but dont want to buy new rims. What would running 295s do to my Jeeps performance, ie power and gas mileage? vice 285s since I have a sports gearing etc if any. I think the 295s are an inch wider and can run on the stock Willys rims I just dont want any noticeable change in how it drives or i will just go w the 285s..any thoughts would be appreciated

Will fit stock rims. Yes, lower mileage. That's not a large difference in size so what are you trying to accomplish?

285 70 17 is a pretty standard tire size. A 295 is not. With a 295 you will lose even more power and mileage. I would just go with some wheel spacers and go with 285s. You will get the look that you want and the jeep will be a little more stable since the wheels/tires will stick out a little more.

i like my tires to poke out about an inch past fender wells..i think with 8 in rims it would but was wondering w a slightly wider tire if that would get the look i want..but consensus is the 295 will affect performance so i ll stick w the 285s and down the road get a wider rim..dont really go w spacers
