2026 map update help! update!!

Looking for some help from experienced updaters.

32 gb memory stick formated to fat 32 and I've tried ntlf (not sure if the letters are correct) .

When I insert to stick to the usb port below the head unit or inside the arm rest I get nothing.

No recognition, NADA.

Am I missing a step?

I have looked thru the head unit trying to find something related to updating but no luck.

I downloaded the map to my laptop then unzipped then moved to memory stick with no luck, not a mac fyi.

Any and all help much appreciated.

Like starting with, insert usb stick into computer. lol

I haven't tried this yet, as I typically just use Google Maps, but the free updates sound good (somehow I missed that). I thought those were typically through OTA updates, but know you can do them via USB as well. I did that for our 2018 when we first got it, but haven't done it since. Here is a link on this very subject that you may/may not have seen yet, but his initial post talks about some clear guidance re: the USB drive itself:

I have found both the 2018 and 2024 to be very sensitive to the size, formatting, and brand of drive. Some work great, some do not. In both our Jeeps I've got a small USB drive loaded with my music in the USB slot in the armrest console storage area. This one is most reliable for that use. Might also be for the map updates.

On you 2024 your maps will self update. If you are using a Mac it will never format correctly. Must be added onto the USB from a windows based computer. But all in all.... your maps will automatically update in the areas you drive most....

when I stick my 64gb scan disk into my laptop it is D.

Then extract files then drag to D which is my memory stick

i had problems in the past with reading the usb memory stick (not a map update) and then someone suggested I try a different brand. I bought a San Disk and it worked right away. I don’t know if this will help, just letting you know of my experience. I hope you get it straightened out.

Sorry. I mean what brand, size, model? Uconnect is sensitive to all.

First couple of times i tried with a 32 gb scan disk but it was old so I purchased a new 64 gb scandisk and still no luck.
