I recently traded my 2023 on a 2024 392. On my 2023 it didn't have the side airbags. When I installed my 2CH dash cam I was able to just pull the panels off the roll bar above the passenger door and run the wire for the rear cam under that.

This might be a dumb question, but before I go pulling the panels off the 2024, is there a risk of me setting off the side airbags doing this?

Hey!
I apologize that I can’t answer your question.

I just wanted to know if the upgrade is worth it from a 23?
I have a 23 392XR and I’m desperately trying to convince my wife!

disconnect all the batteries just to be safe, it is usually recommended to do that if you're removing anything related to airbags

My 2023 was a Diesel Rubicon, so I can't directly compare to the 2023 392.

However, I do like the larger touch screen, new front grille, side air bags for safety, and full float rear axle. But I can't say weather that would be worth the money to you or not. For me it is.

Compared to my diesel Rubicon I like it better in every way except for the range. I plan to remedy that with some kind of extended fuel tank or something.

Good idea. I ended up not removing the panels completely and just took out screws on one side. Then was able to wedge open the panel with a plastic tool and push the cable in while I slid the tool along the seam and fed the cable along the roll bars. Worked well.
