2023 Rubicon

Had a 2021 Sport and installed the tazer mini without any issue. That Jeep has since been totaled and we have bought a 2023 Rubicon XR. I made sure to unmarry the tazer from old jeep and went to install on new jeep. Well it seems like they changed things under the dash. There is a box over the area blocking the plugs that the tazer needs. It’s so tight in that area I’m not able to get a picture. The jeep was built in Dec of 22. Anyone else experience anything like this in there 2023?

Am I missing something. Seems like on my old 21 the plugs were a bit above the ob2 port. But my 23 there are plugs right above the ob2 port but only one of those plugs looks like it will fit tazer??

I'd be surprised if they moved the plugs around between 2022 to 2023, just for shits and giggles.

They are buried pretty high in there...

The connectors you are referring to > "plugs right above the ob2 port" are for the amp.

The Security Gateway (SGW) in regard to the 2023 JL, is still in the same location as in the 2021 JL.

The red circle, encircles the SGW connectors.... Down below and just kinda above the OBDll port and back a bit are for amp.

Thank you for that picture. That’s exactly how it was on my old 2021. But the 2023 has a box covering all of that up so there isn’t any access to the security gateway that I can see or feel. I will try and take a picture to show it.

Yes, would like to see pictures.

I have private messaged back and forth with 3 or so forum guys that have installed the Tazer JL Mini on 2023's and then messaged me for usage help.. they made no mention to me of inability to access the SGW. Also, Joe Z has not mentioned that there is SGW access issues.

I also have private messaged with to two guys in regard to SmartStopStart units they installed on their 2023 JL. SmartStopStart connects at the SGW.

You're not an idiot at all.... I have no problem with a guy/gal posting a valid concern / a question, etc..

Actually this thread will be helpful to 2023 JL/JT owner's especially.
