2019 JLU ongoing corrosion issues

Just posting some pics of the corrosion issues i have on the 2019 JLU, seems that many are seeing the same thing on their vehicles. This is definitely not what anyone should be seeing on vehicles this age. It seems to me a very poorly applied paint process or horrible QC from Jeep. Even if they fix all the spots, this could come up anytime and in any other spot.

I have a 2019 as well and had the issues you are sxperiencing repaired under warranty before said warranty ran out. There is a lot of discussion as to whether this is galvanic corrosion or not. I won’t rehash the arguments but - at the end of the day - the rust is coming from poor panel prep. You can live with it … or not. My door skins were replaced under warranty. Merely sanding down them down and repainting does not seem to guarantee the issue wikl not come back. Sorry.

Hey Mike - thanks for the info. I contacted @JeepCares and they didnt offer any help whatsoever, rather the company line that its out of warranty. I only noticed these bubbles a couple months ago but clearly they didnt just appear overnight. This is immensely frustrating and as you mention, devalues the vehicle. Wondering if anyone has had any luck going direct to Stellantis? Thanks!

Just curious, has your Jeep ever been up north? Do they they salt the roads in Virginia? I saw this all the time when I lived in NY.

So its been through NE for a couple weeks in summer and then this year we spent a week in VT. I lived in VT for a while so have seen the damage road salt can cause. I dont think this contributed for a couple reasons; i wash the jeep pretty frequently, the original corrosion on the door hinges was noticed and "fixed" in Sep 2022, the 2nd time in Oct 2023, and while they use a solution on roads in Northern Virginia, i dont think the past few winters were that snowy, and again i wash it always after snow. Plus i'm thinking that corrosion appearing after only 2.5 years of ownership seems to point to a larger problem.

Keep an eye on yours, i think part of my mistake was not actively looking for more spots all the time. Good luck!

It’s a 5 year corrosion warranty. I got my 20MY fixed under warranty
