12v Fridge Install

I purchased this 12v fridge a while back for $100 and I've been waiting to use it. It's not your standard offroad, ARB, Dometic fridge. A local pharmaceutical company donated 100's of these to the local Habitat for Humanity. It's apparently a very expensive fridge with a great sterling motor. It runs great, gets ice cold in about 30mins and is extremely quiet.

The only problem is it does not have an automatic shutoff that I know of, therefore I could easily drain a battery down. I'd like to use it on camping trips to the Outer Banks for 2-3 days. My question is has anyone had good experiences with Low Voltage Disconnects and if so what brands etc. I found one from Blue Sea Systems called the M-LVD that looks good. Also, I'm curious how this would all work with the dual battery setup in the Jeep. Not sure if I should install another 12v outlet in the back, wired into an the aux panel and run that up to a LVD and then the battery?

I'm far from an electrical technician and I do not know how many Amps it pulls. Just looking for some ideas. I'd like to also put it on a slide. Thanks!

Thanks! Good stuff! I’ve also looked into the Yeti 400 option and that may be the way to go, especially with a solar option. Still cheaper than a dual battery setup I guess.

Im asking around to see if I can run it off the Aux switches and if there’s a low voltage cutoff built into that system.

I like what did with the fridge slide and access door beneath...slick.

Nice! How long is it?

I am trying to figure out which fridge I can fit. I have been looking at the dometic 65 which spans 28.54 inches long. 22inches high.

And the arb 63which is a bit longer..probably too long. Around 33”.

It's 27.5"L x 18"H x 14" W. I'm not sure how everyone is fitting the larger fridges because this one is a tight fit. If you keep it right on the floor you could probably fit the Dometic 65. The more you raise it up off the floor, the backseat starts to push it rearward.

The best thing to do would be adding a deep cycle battery and a dual battery isolator. You can run accessories off the 2nd battery and never worry about having a dead starting battery.

This has options for adding a battery and battery cover in the rear storage compartment, and an air compressor if you so desire.
Or you can just use an off the shelf rv battery, and a secured battery box (which is what I'm doing)
