Might do this if I get the Willy's...to have body match grille...but was wondering how often people did that...Professionals would charge nearly $700 including the grille, but I did it for just $60 with supplies from a local shop. The grille itself cost $300. Surprisingly, painting the 2024 model wasn't as tough as expected - pretty straightforward! You only need the top panel and surround, and they came separately like Lego pieces, making it easy to paint and piece onto the main grille. I also learned some tricks, like applying thin layers of primer and being patient with drying. If your sandpaper gets sticky, just wait a bit longer for the paint to dry. Another tip: for the color paint spray, try a long press swing motion instead of point and shoot. It gave me that glossy look I was aiming for!
Now I wouldn’t say this job was done perfect compare to a profession with air compressor spray gun, but for the cost and final result, it all worth it.
DIY some projects on my jeep is always fun and I cherish those moments.

you can do it yourself easily. its a plastic piece so if you messed it up just alcohol wipe it out and redo.Might do this if I get the Willy's...to have body match grille...but was wondering how often people did that...
No, that was just a fun DIY project I did myself. We also work with a collision center for professional paint jobs, where they use a spray gun, air compressor, and drying station. For my DIY attempt, I used a clothing rack. When we compared my DIY grille with one painted professionally, there was no noticeable difference from two feet away. However, upon closer inspection, the finish from the spray gun is noticeably glossier and thicker compared to that of a rattle can.Out of curiosity... is that what you do when YOU charge people $300 to color match?
