We found a 4x4 park called Levuka in Northern NSW when looking at Google Maps and decided to drop in and camp for a night. This place is awesome. They have heaps of fun 4x4 tracks to drive around the rainforest where their homestead is located. Towards the end of the day we sank wheels deep into some pretty serious mud (as seen at 4:28). It appeared deceptively dry. It can be hard to recognize little traps like this when driving in unfamiliar territory. Thankfully there was a tree to winch off. The cleanup effort was a real pain but it was well worth it for the fun day we had.

Cheers! I actually haven't figured that noise out yet. It only happens at full flex and I'm pretty sure it's the tires rubbing somewhere.

Otherwise it could be the track bar. I know the track bar is loose / worn and needs to be replaced with an adjustable one. But not sure if it would make this noise.

Oh, ok. Makes sense. Just by looking, I thought that Jeep was brand new. I didn't consider any worn parts. It looks great!

Tires rubbing on the fenders. Watch from about 2:01 to 2:08 and you can see the front fender deform as the tire presses into it and dust/dirt being sent flying as the fender snaps against the tread. I can't tell what tires are on that Jeep but they are probably oversized for the lift, or the front springs are a bit saggy due to age and weight of the winch.

You see some puffs of dust from inside the fender at the top where it appears the top of the tire may be rubbing.

I like those fender extensions, do you recall brand or part#

Replace that crappy factory track bar with a Steersmarts Yeti XD trackbar and you will be impressed at how much better your Jeep drives and handles, in all situations.

More cool videos of some really interesting (to me anyway) places. Thanks for sharing! Do you have a You Tube channel by chance?

This is the 3.6 Pentastar. I wanted something lightweight and simple, in this case a naturally aspirated petrol which is actually what led me to the Jeep.

They are 295/70R17 which I think is 33.3 inches. The wheels have a pretty wide offset which might be part of the problem. I think in the future I might reduce the offset with a new set of wheels and move to 255/80R17 (if we can get them in Australia) to reduce some of the weight in the tires because the size increase had a big impact on fuel consumption and width. They perform really well though and being XAT's (not a full mud terrain) they are surprisingly quiet on the street.

You see some puffs of dust from inside the fender at the top where it appears the top of the tire may be rubbing.

These are the fender extensions:
https://doubleblackoffroad.com/products/dbor-2-au-fender-extensions-for-jl

I have already cracked one and they are not cheap so I will probably look for a different solution in the future (possibly the US spec fenders which look way better).

Replace that crappy factory track bar with a Steersmarts Yeti XD trackbar and you will be impressed at how much better your Jeep drives and handles, in all situations.
I was looking at the Hard Race one, it's an Australian company and they make high quality stuff without the cost of importing. Will research this one too, thanks for sharing!

Sure do! four wheeled rover. Will have lots more footage coming as we come out of winter back at home.
