My wife unfortunately had an accident and wrote off our Prado, so rather than getting a JL, I ended up getting a Ford Everest as I need the room for an over-lander... JL was going to be a toy....
I’m really interested to hear if RHD versions of JL are better than the RHD versions of the JK which really don’t feel that great compared to vehicles designed for LHD & RHD from the outset.
Jeep South Africa ha e not replied, but my local dealer has taken my details...
If the specifications are too watered down, they’ll force me into a JK or an alternative better value vehicle as my wife has just had a serious accident in our Prado, which I expect will be written off

For the rest of you, dual tops is the answer for us as a hard top is better for bush safaris so you can use a roof rack while a soft top is best for general Johannesburg or beach use so you can pop it off for a sunny day...
Bad news, the JK had multiple failures in the recent series by Ronny Dahl - but they even managed to crack the chassis of a Landcruiser pickup...
I recommend watching his channel, it’s entertaining...
I’ve swum with my Forester’s key a few times, it has been fine. Battery has died, no problem, I just held key against starter and it worked - it is simple and r liable RFID technology, truly bulletproof.
On the other hand, I had a key break in my LR Discovery in the middle of nowhere and had to...
Problem is, we’ll probably also be affected by the Australian regulations in South Africa too, and we also have no news.... At least we get the 2 door JK Rubicon’s here, and I really want a 2 door JL Rubicon, with Rock Track etc and high fenders....
I’m also hoping RHD JL’s have better driving...

And not available in RHD or South Africa yet....
At least you North Americans will have tested JL for me before I get a chance to order....
