Giving this thread a proper ending with a pic of the final product. Thanks to everyone who contributed and gave suggestions. The fender retention kit from AAL worked great and allowed me to keep my nurserts with some added support. Front bumper is next!

Me again... Curious how long it took the retention kit from AAL to arrive after you ordered it? Looking to order front and rear kits today now that I know this awesome kit exists.

I looked up the fender retention kit from AAL out of curiosity and it looks like the plastic fender washers in that kit can save me from having to remove the rivnuts since they take the place of the plastic clips on the fender. Not sure if that made sense but it will work for what I need! Thank you!

I'm looking to upgrade to these Bushwacker Hyperform Fender Flares. They're on sale right now I believe. Looking at the install instructions, step 12, it looks like clips are the only way to go based on how they attach to the fender itself (slides up and snaps into place).

Hi all. Long story short, I installed some fenders on my JLU that required the use of the smittybilt nutsert tool. That worked well but I'm now looking to upgrade to some more expensive fenders that use the clip method like OEM fenders. Any idea how to remove the nutserts? Someone in a non-Jeep...

So I've had the JL for a few months now but on the second day of ownership I broke the driver side passenger window crank. I was standing in the back with the top down.. hopped out and my shorts got caught on the crank and broke it in half. Any ideas on how to replace this? Thanks
