I just got voted into Patrol 16 of the Mile High Jeep Club. We do quite a few events and it's a really awesome group of people. The parent club has been around since the '50s. Consider joining.
There's groups that focus on hardcore 4x4, camping, overlanding, leisure off roading, stoners, etc. We camped at Mesa Verde a few weeks ago and will be doing trails in the Ouray area through the weekend in late August.
