Hi All
I think we should set up an easy run for next weekend, Saturday August 17th or Sunday August 18th. I don't know if I can make it but I'm happy to get the ball rolling. I just spent 4 days wheeling in California (up in the corner near Nevada and Oregon) and came back with Covid!

Anyone interested?

I would be in most probably. Robert and I are still targeting the Rubicon the last week in August.

That's awesome! The Rubicon is definitely on my bucket list. I can't wait to hear about it.

You can join us! Not as scary hard as advertised. Just a long hard trail. Camping two nights to make it super fun.

Mike and I are going to do it someday. We just have to figure out when. Probably not next year but soon.

@MeatRack Well shoot… I just learned today that Robert’s Jeep is down and he is not sure he will be able to do the Rubicon last week in August. The first week in Sept to meet up with the gang at Ouray I think is too close to the following week that I have to travel on biz. Dang it! Let’s do try to meet up next weekend if we can.

I'm totally booked up with out of town family on the 17th/18th, otherwise I'd be quite interested.
Edit: I'm open on the 25th.

Well we have two proposals on the books. One for Aug 17/18 and one for Aug 25. Folks could do both. Speak up and get something going! I'm probably out for both sadly. I tested positive for Covid yesterday so I might not want to infect people next weekend. I'm also thinking about heading to Colorado for a trip to the 4 badge of honor trails over Labor Day weekend. If I do that, I'd need to be home Aug 24/25.

The 17th just opened up for me, so I'd be interested in something that weekend. A friend of mine has been pushing for a Stampede Pass excursion and I was considering that.

Stampede Pass would be very cool. I think we should plan on it for the 17th and/or the 25th/26th. I'm still recovering from Covid and may not be able to make it but I think it would be a great trip for experienced folks and newbies.

Have driven past Stampede Pass many time’s while traveling East on I-90… Never explored the area, sounds fun! Where are you guys going to meet up?

Did some hunting long ago on Table Mountain in the area. I remember some shelf roads that were not hard but scenic. I’m game for the 17th. Weather just a little iffy at the moment for views. 66deg hi cloudy and 35% rain.

Table Mtn, Liberty, Lion Rock, Haney Meadows… Lots of cool, relatively easy stuff off of Hwy 97! Would be game for that also.

Alrighty then. I'll set up an event for Saturday to do Stampede Pass. Trails Offroad says it is a 3+ hour trail 1-way. Assuming we continue on to Hwy 410, here is 10 miles of Greenwater Road before hitting 410. So it's an all-day adventure. I'd suggest meeting at 8:30AM at the Safeway in North Bend. Speak up if that is not to anyone's liking.

Jeff, can you post a route map. I am trying to wrap my head around it.

Agreed. Looks like about 50% of the 19 miles of dirt road. Should go pretty quick. I'd estimate 4 hours plus stops to get from I90 to Hwy 410.

I think I am in. My only thought is wouldn’t we be closer to home and nearby more watering holes if we go the other direction? Any clue as to which way provides better views?

I’m in👍 Will probably not do 410, Backtracking to 90 makes more sense for my day.

FS rd 70 off of 410 is a cool area, Naches trail is worthy of another event:]

It'll be my first time up Stampede Pass. A (non-jeep, is that allowed?) friend of mine has been itching to take me up there, and I think he's going to ride along with me this trip. All the reviews I've seen of the proposed route seem to indicate it's pretty tame, but that there are some optional challenges to tackle if you want. I want to stretch a little past the difficulty 1 ratings this trip.

From what I've seen in trail reviews I agree about the Naches trail. I have it in my Favorites list for a future event. It might be a bit much to pull off this time, but then again...

We can run the other way if you all prefer. I opted for getting on the trail sooner.

But i do think the Greenwater Inn is better than Snoqualmie Pass for post run festivities

I guess I’m a little indifferent other than I will be heading to Monroe instead of back to Seabeck and not as thrilled about a longer drive after libations but it won’t stop me. You’ll decide. Jeff can your buddies at TrailsOffroad offer an opinion on best direction of travel?
MeatRack
MeatRack
Oooh. It's way more convenient for you the 410 way first. I suggest we reverse it and go from 410 then. @gritzNgravy can you do it the other way?
MeatRack

I just reversed the run on the Event page. Meeting now at Enumclaw Safeway at 9AM

It’s really about a push from either trailhead for me when if I’m looking at it right.

I’m in the Bellevue/Newcastle area, so I-90 is the ez go to. I’m down for meeting in North Bend, or Dru Bru at the top of the Pass… Both have been convenient locations over the years. Usually when I do 410 I’m hitting 70 or heading to Rainier. Let me know if u guys end up meeting in North Bend.

Currently meeting at the Enumclaw Safeway, right? We can stop off at Dru Bru after the run.
My non-Jeep friend is going to join us in his own rig (Ford Excursion).
