It turns out the screw was litterarly just long enough to penetrate the tire. I was shocked it was that small. Considering that 3/4 was showing. I had a trusted shop fix/plug it in my presence. Wasnt worth tearing the tire down imho. And he guaranteed it for life so, no biggie. I got it back where it was, ( right rear). Now here's the issue, I put the spare in its place at home( as I originally posted). I later drove to the garage fire repair and I noticed that the right rear pressure stayed the same, like it wasn't reading the new spare tire. So after some thinking, one of two things are going on here 1. There's no sensor in the spare (which would suck) or 2. That short trip to the garage did not give the computer light enough to read the new tire in that position (some auto makers call for you to drive for several miles). After the repair, with repaired tire back on right rear, as I drove the pressure showed and came up with the other 3 tires. This happened almost instantly. So I'm hoping for #2 here.....I put the spare on the right rear, cause I found this! I noticed yesterday on my way home that the right rear tire was not up to pressure once they got hot. The cluster screen showed right rear at 36 the others at 39 (hot). Checked the tire this morning and bammm! I don't think this screw belongs there. I made it the spare, so I can get it plugged as it sits relatively easy.. . Is that the best best fix, a plug?
