The G12RK is under 2000# fully loaded and can be pulled by the 2-door. But the kitchen outside at the back. Still... better than sleeping on the ground by a long shot.

The love of my life requires indoor kitchen, table, bathroom, and shower. (Hotel Room)

Otherwise I'd go with a small utility trailer with roof top tent with overhanging vestibule. Cook outside, because that's the point of camping... to get outside? Carry my spare for both trailer and Jeep, propane, cookware, portable toilet with privacy tent, maybe a small water tank with heater for a quick shower? Then still be able to use the trailer to go get stuff at Home Depot. This is the dream.

I'll be happy to get her out into the hills anyway I can.

The 2dr tows quite nicely behind a BAMH.

My retirement fund has not hit yet. Getting some more tickets Wednesday.

Agreed. I've had my fair share of roughing it, so a travel trailer would be nice.

I'm looking forward to taking long trips but a trailer would help with the expenses. A few nights out back in the woods and then a hotel every now and then for cleanup would reduce the exploration costs a bit.

Definitely a different desert... Since I was by myself (yes yes I know) I walked a couple of the trails before driving them. At one point I was in 4L with both lockers on trying to get up a deep sandy hill. Tested my pucker factor.

While dry sump oil systems may be great for the track, they SUCK when it comes to oil changes! 10 quarts of pricey oil and an hour labor. About $180 for my oil change today. Yikes!

I thought I had it rough when I paid close to $80 for the wife's Rav4 oil change. (She insists the dealer does it until it's out of warranty. )

STILL, it's a finely tuned machine and deserves a bit of "special" attention.

With the flushing and whatnot, the tranny saw 24 quarts! Chevy paid for that!
