hey so has anyone figured out a way for the fender DRLs to maintain the same brightness level when the headlights are off compared to when you switch your headlights on? There is a big difference between the brightness level of the DRL when the headlights are on. (Very dim)

I just put @Diode Dynamics led bulbs in. They’re pretty bright, and I used the cheaper, less bright model. Didn’t get hyper flash, either.

I have a Sahara with halogens and the DRL uses a two filament bulb. One for when headlights are off and one for when headlights are on.

I upgraded to the morimoto LED fender lights and the DRL is dim with headlights on and bright with headlights off just like stock.

I want them to always be bright and I’m curious if that’s possible.

The fender lights receive 2 inputs to determine which brightness level to use.

With headlights off and DRL turned on, the DRL Driver circuit will supply current to turn the lights on to high brightness.

When the headlights are turned on, the DRL Driver circuit turns off and instead the Park Lamp Driver circuit supplies power to the lights this time.
In this case, the lights use their low-brightness mode for nighttime driving.

The only way to keep the fender lights at high brightness would be to keep the DRL Driver circuit active with the headlights on. I think this can be done with the Tazer by setting the DRL location to Canada. When the DRLs are set to Canada, they will always be active so there's a chance that this may solve your problem.

This is correct

Mine are halogen, as well. I put in Beamtech H13s. I haven’t noticed two drl settings, but I assume they would be the same as yours.

I have the 8.4" uconnect, so not sure about the 5" and 7" models. Go into settings, than lighting, and about half way down is a check/uncheck option that keeps the white fender light at its brighter output regardless of having headlamps on or off. I can't recall the exact phrase of that menu option, and I'm not near my baby at the moment to check, but its there. I ran with them brighter for months until I recently switched something DRL related with the new tazer. Now, they are completely off until I at least turn the parking lights on. Gotta go back in and switch it back.

The only option there is “Daytime Running Light”

Any change with the box checked or unchecked? Sounds like the menu option that got me the results you're looking for. I have the factory led lighting group, so that could impact your results matching mine.

Were you able to get the brightness done with the Flashcal? I have a Flashpaq and wondering if I could do it to mine?

So I messed with the Flashcal DRL adjustments and none of them will keep the DRL at full brightness 100% of the time :/ it is what it is
